SAIT graduates from the Radio, Television and Broadcast News diploma - Broadcast News are eligible to block transfer into the third year of Royal Roads University's Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication (BAPC) degree provided all other entrance criteria are met and space remains available in the program. Entrance to all Royal Roads University (RRU) programs is on a competitive basis. RRU is offering students two ways to complete the BAPC degree: an on-campus 1-year (12 months) accelerated program, and an online 2-year (24 month) blended model which incorporates online learning with two short on-campus residencies. Graduates with a SAIT Radio, Television and Broadcast News - Broadcast News diploma program may transfer to the Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies degree program (Degree Partnership with SAIT) at the University of Calgary. This diploma will be credited toward eight of the required twenty full-course equivalents toward the Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies degree. The remaining twelve full-course equivalents must include all University of Calgary requirements for the Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies. If you want to attempt to complete the post-diploma Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies in two years you will have to complete two full-course equivalents in Spring or Summer sessions; otherwise you may need to take an additional year. A Co-op Option is also available in which you complete three paid work terms (4 months) alternating with academic terms. This will normally add a year to your completion time. Updated July 18, 2016.
